You need a high amount of visitors before you can be sure of the bounce rate, because 10 visitors may dislike your website, but the 90 other may still surf the site which would be a 10% (good) bounce rate. A high bounce rate can be cause by bad web page design.

Lastly, you want to know the average time on the website and page views. The average time a visitor spends on the website is to evaluate whether or not the content is being looked at effectively. Also, you must keep track of the page views of your web pages. This is important to know so that you can highlight more relevant links or keywords and lead the visitors in the right direction.

Based on these rules you are able to make the right changes on the website to evaluate its conversion. A good conversion rate is 3% of your visitors, with 5% being very good. So if you are seeing that your business website is not giving you the results you want, it is time to make the switch.
